It’s Sunday night, almost Monday morning (wah!) and I have just spent the last 10 hours or so working on Lucid Dreaming 2.0. I’ve added page numbers, updated the bio and web address, included the beautiful art by Salome Totladze, and most importantly, edited out errors and jazzed up the story.
I was proud of Lucid Dreaming before. I’m extremely proud now. Well, I will be once I’m finally finished. It seems to be taking as long as writing the first draft did, but that’s only because this book is my baby and I want it to be as close to perfect as possible.
Alright, I know it will never be perfect. I will never be completely happy with it, because I’m always going to want to make it better. The future me will always feel more capable of doing a superior job than past me. But I vow to stop at 2.0. There will be no 3.0 or 4.0. As an author, I need to learn to be satisfied and move on to the next thing.
Still, I believe the 2.0 is a necessary monster. To those who have purchased and read the book already, THANK YOU! Especially since I have received so much wonderful feedback on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you do not feel cheated or slighted that version 2.0 is coming. It would be too much for me to ask you to read it again, but just know that the plot and fundamentals are not changing. I simply wished to clean up some jerky transitions and dig a little deeper into the hearts and minds of my characters.
To those who might be reading this and are interested in reading it, I will ask you to hold off a little bit longer. I think you’ll be glad you did!
It’s October 21st now…. I think I’ll be ready to rock and roll by the time the calendar hits November. SO CLOSE! LET’S DO THIS THING!
